Kitchens
More than 10 years ago, the collapse of the Soviet
Union plunged Russia into a social and economic crisis.
Presently, more than 60% of the population is considered
low income to poor with the official poverty guidelines
set at 1,575 Rubles per month-approximately $50 in US
currency.
As the Russian people struggle to embody a democratic
government and free enterprise systems, many social
services lag or are non-existent.
These economic factors have forced thousands of families
to remain without many of life's necessities. Malnutrition
is prevalent.
Russian Missions has addressed this problem by developing
neighborhood Soup Kitchens. These innovative projects
have proven extremely successful, especially in Siberia
and in the central part of Russia.
We are blessed with Christian volunteers who cook, clean
and serve warm meals to the needy. However, your help
is desperately needed. Your tax deductible contribution
will help us supply these sites with fresh food and
adequate basic supplies.
