For Churches > Sister
Church Ministry Project
We are delighted that you are considering a special
relationship with a congregation from Russia!
It will be an opportunity for your church to grow in
the direction of international mission work. In addition,
it will be a valuable support tool for our missionaries.
Both your church and a Russian congregation will be
blessed by your decision.
Essentially, a "Sister Church" relationship
is one in which congregations here and abroad covenant
to participate in each other's lives and ministries,
for mutual enrichment. The specific ways in which this
sharing takes place are limited only by the creativity
of the congregations involved. If this is your church's
first experience with international mission work, it
should be assuring to learn that Russian Missions has
had previous experience in this type of partnership.
With Russian Missions, this partnering goes beyond simply
financial support and is much more than that.
Typically, it involves praying for one another, exchanges
of letter and perhaps recordings of greetings and/or
with services, photo exchanges, pulpit exchanges and
reciprocal visits by delegations from both congregations.
It may involve participation in each other's special
projects (i.e. summer youth camps, evangelistic outreaches
to orphanages and hospitals, renovation work to existing
church related sites, mission's celebrations, etc.). How to get started? Feel free to contact Russian Missions
for further information. The office has free literature
further explaining the process and would be delighted
to send it to any prospective Sister Church
